Smith & Williamson Investment Management is launching two ethical investment services – a Bespoke Green & Ethical Investment Management service and a Green Solutions AIM portfolio service.

The Bespoke Green & Ethical Management service draws on the full range of potential investments, offering the ethical investor the chance to actively invest in products and services that provide solutions to global environmental and social problems.

Green Solutions AIM portfolio service is similar, but is restricted to AIM stocks which qualify for exemption from inheritance tax (IHT).

The AIM portfolio service is being promoted by Smith & Williamson’s tax-efficient solutions division ('TES') and will invest in AIM companies that are active in sectors such as energy efficiency and storage, fairtrade, healthcare, organic food, renewable energy, and waste management and recycling.

Martin Sherwood, head of Smith & Williamson's TES, says, ‘Our green solutions team believes that it is possible to achieve the best of both worlds: investments which deliver environmental solutions and which at the same time produce above average financial returns combined with exemption from inheritance tax.’

The services are due to be launched on 29 May 2008. For more information visit www.smith.williamson.co.uk
