In the terms of the reward scheme, existing and new customers can earn Airmiles simply by trading.

Existing City Index account holders can earn up to 20 Airmiles with every trade by opting into the loyalty programme, and can earn a further 500 bonus miles through referring a friend.

New customers can earn 1,000 Airmiles by moving to City Index and placing at least one qualifying trade.

City Index estimates that the average trader will earn enough miles for a return trip to Europe within a year, and with no limit to the number of miles earned frequent traders could potentially collect enough miles for multiple trips to exotic destinations.
