Fund pick: BlackRock Global Funds Latin America
Joe McGrath, 18 August 2010
The BlackRock Global Funds Latin America fund is managed by Will Landers, who joined the firm in 2006 after the merger with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, where he had been a director since 2004.
He was previously a research analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston between 1999 and 2001.
Landers' strategy has been praised as this fund has made average gains of 19.7 per cent every year for the past ten years, the best year being the 12 months until July 2005, which returned a stunning 67.5 per cent.
As an offshore fund, it has been criticised for its lack of daily dealing, but investors should recognise the uncompromising consistency of this fund.
