WH Ireland launches American and absolute return funds
Rob Langston, 24 August 2010
Financial services group WH Ireland has launched two funds through its recently-established asset management division.
The PFS icf Absolute Return Portfolio Fund and PFS WHI America Fund launched earlier this month, under new umbrella OEIC fund, the PFS Investment Fund.
The absolute return fund aims to deliver a 'consistent absolute return over the long term irrespective of market conditions' investing in a range of absolute return funds and other investment vehicles. It will be managed by Mark Lynam and Jeremy Suffield.
Lynam said: 'Our fund has wealth preservation at its core, and Jeremy and I are looking forward to putting our extensive experience in family offices into practice in a new setting.
'We believe that family offices were really the vanguard of the fund of funds approach, so are confident that our emphasis on "under the radar" managers will continue to be successful in this new vehicle.'
The PFS WHI America Fund will be managed by Richard de Lisle, and aims to achieve an attractive long-term rate of return by investing primarily in equities and other investments in the US.
The absolute return fund has a minimum investment of £1,000, initial charge of 1.5 per cent and annual management charge of 2 per cent.
Minimum investment in the America fund is £1,000, it has an initial charge of 5 per cent and annual management charge of 1.5 per cent.
