Winterflood reveals potential investment trust entrants to FTSE indices
Rob Langston, 25 August 2010
Research from Winterflood Investment Trusts has revealed the next crop of investment trusts to enter the FTSE indices at next month's review.
Based on current market caps, new launches the J.P. Morgan Global Emerging Market Income and Polar Capital Global Healthcare trusts are potential entrants to the FTSE Small Cap index.
The funds could be joined by the Ruffer Investment Company, while property investment company Real Estate Opportunities and construction firm Connaught could exit the index.
Entry into higher indices means the funds could see increased demand from index-tracking funds.
Elsewhere, Jupiter Fund Management and and closed life fund group Pheonix Group could enter the FTSE 250 index, while Resolution - owner of Friends Provident- could be promoted to the FTSE !00.
The quarterly review of indices by FTSE is set to take place on 8 September, based on the previous day's closing prices.
