SCM Private launches bond ETF
Rob Langston, 20 June 2011
SCM Private has launched a low cost bond exchange-traded bond fund, the SCM Private Bond Reserve Portfolio.
The new launch will invest in a portfolio of cash, corporate bonds and emerging market debt through exchange-traded funds.
The exchange-traded product will have a total expense ratio of 0.6 per cent and will carry no performance fee.
Alan Miller, founder and chief investment officer at SCM Private, said the bond portfolio had provoked much interest from investors and advisers.
He said, 'With interest rates set to continue at low levels, many investors are seeking a low risk, low volatility investment, with the objective of outperforming cash.'
The product has also been seeded with a 'seven figure sum' by SCM Private founding partners. The new fund joins the company's existing funds: the SCM Private Absolute Return and Long Term Portfolios.
