HSBC Global Asset Management has confirmed the appointment of investment director of equities Mandy Chan as manager on its Chinese Equity fund.

Chan replaces former manager Richard Wong who left the company at the end of January.

Wong had been manager of $3,1 billion offshore fund since rejoining HSBC drom Nikko Capital Management in 1997.

Chan joined HSBC Global Asset Management in December 2009 from ABN Amro where she was chief investment officer for Greater China equities.

The new manager also manages the HSBC China Dragon, China Momentum and China A funds and is supported on the Chinese Equity fund by HSBC Jintrust and the Asia ex-Japan teams.
