Skandia Investment Group has added an Asian Equity fund - the Skandia Asian Equity Fund - to its range to be managed by institutional fund manager MIR.

The fund manager has managed an Asian stock portfolio within the Skandia Global Dynamic Equity Fund for two years since launch.

James Millard, chief investment officer at Skandia Investment Group, said, 'We continue to see enormous value being created in Asia and other emerging markets and so we are keen to offer customers another great investment manager to supplement those in our existing range of Asian equity funds.

'With many established funds reaching significant scale and capacity we felt now was the time to launch a new and more aggressively styled fund in order to maximise the enhanced returns we believe are to be had in the region.'

Skandia chose MIR because of its high conviction approach to fund management. The fund manager focuses on a portfolio of between 60 and 100 Asia ex-Japan stocks

The fund has a minimum investment of £1,000 and an annual management charge of 1.5 per cent.
