Threadneedle has recruited former Baring Asset Management fund manager Daniel Isidori to its Asia ex-Japan and global emerging markets equities team.

In his new role, Isidori will oversee Threadneedle’s investments in Latin America and will take over as lead manager on its Latin America fund.

At Barings, Isidori co-managed a $1 billion Latin America active equity fund and had previously worked at HSBC Asset Management.

Vanessa Donegan, head of Asia (ex-Japan) and emerging market equities at Threadneedle, said the appointment came at a time of increased interest in Latin America.

She said, 'His appointment follows the recruitment of Irina Miklavchich as a global emerging markets [GEM] portfolio manager in February, and brings our Asian and GEM fund management capability to full strength with a total of six portfolio managers.'
