Rob Langston, 17 June 2011
Newton Investment Management has named Fred Moore as the manager of its European Higher Income Fund, taking over from Raj Shant.
Moore has been promoted to lead manager on the fund with Shant taking on a new role as alternate manager.
Jeff Munroe, chief investment officer of Newton, said it was 'committed' to developing fund managers from within the group.
He said, 'We continually aim to meet our clients' investment needs for diverse investment strategies with focused and accountable leadership.'
Munroe said the fund would benefit from Moore's experience on the European equities team at Newton. Moore joined Newton in 2008, having previously spent three years at Deloitte & Touche.
