F&C confirms management shake up
Joe McGrath, 30 June 2011
F&C Asset Management has continued with the integration of Thames River staff, transferring TR co-founder Charlie Porter to head up the newly integrated funds business.
As part of the restructure, Mike Woodward, head of investment trusts at F&C will report to Porter while continuing to be responsible for F&C’s investment trust client servicing and company secretarial functions.
Ed Morse, senior sales director at F&C joined Thames River in 2001 to lead the sales force and will now take a new position, as head of investment trust business development.
Morse joined Thames River from Credit Suisse where he was head of European Retail.
Speaking on the changes, Charlie Porter, head of the new funds division, said F&C has a long and proud heritage in the investment trust market, which spans almost one and a half centuries.
He added, ‘Investment trusts are, and will continue to be a key part of F&C’s future. We are ambitious for F&C’s investment trust business and will be investing in this franchise through strengthened distribution and product innovation.
'We have a wide range of investment capabilities across the group, with strong track records in multiple asset classes.
'Over time, we intend to develop new investment trust products that will play to our strengths and respond to the ever‐changing needs of our clients.'
