Andrew Adcock has left his role as managing partner at investment veteran John Duffield's wealth management venture Brompton Asset Management.

Adcock, formerly a vice chairman of corporate finance at Citigroup, has left in what was understood to be an amicable parting of ways.

As part of his role at Brompton, Adcock had been tasked with exploring new expansion opportunities and could return to the firm in an advisory capacity.

Adcock has held a number of roles and was previously a partner at Lazard. He is currently a director of the F&C Global Smaller Companies investment trust and chairman at Majedie Investments

He joined Brompton Asset Management - the investment management company established by John Duffield after New Star Asset Management - in 2010.

The departure of Adcock is the most significant departure since head of private clients - and New Star alumnus - Simon Akroyd left the business at the end of 2010.
