SWIP appoints new equities boss
Ellie Duncan, 12 September 2011
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) has made an addition to its UK equities team with the appointment of Andrew Paisley as investment director.
Paisley, who joins SWIP from Kempen, will be involved in the management of its UK small caps mandates, which includes research analysis, portfolio management and fund marketing.
Based at the company’s Edinburgh office, Paisley will also work with the UK equities team to assist in the delivery of overall equities investment strategy, reporting to head of UK equities Peter Cockburn.
Cockburn said, ‘Andrew brings both a wealth of investment experience and a high calibre track record of managing small cap mandates.
‘Andrew’s appointment strengthens further our UK equity capability and helps to evolve our investment process and product offering.’
Paisley was previously senior investment manager at Kempen, where he was responsible for managing €400 million of pan-European small cap assets.
He also spent seven years at Edinburgh Fund Managers, now Aberdeen Asset Management, prior to his role at Kempen. SWIP’s UK equities team has £25 billion invested in UK equities.
