Strong demand for multi-asset funds
during turbulent markets
Growth and diversification
The fund, due to be launched in early June, follows strong demand for multi-asset funds during a period that has been the most volatile and turbulent witnessed by managers in many years.
The launch will be the second multi-manager multi-asset fund to be offered to investors by Credit Suisse and will be a natural extension to the existing multi-manager range.
Aidan Kearney, co-head of the Credit Suisse multi-manager team, says, ‘The fund gives investors access to a wider range of investment opportunities, provides additional diversification and strong asset allocation expertise. The strategy has been carefully developed and designed, and is in demand with private clients of Credit Suisse so we believe it will be a compelling fund for UK investors, particularly in the current environment.’
The proposed fund would invest in a core of approximately 50 per cent in traditional investment funds in both the equity and fixed-income environment. This would be supported by 30 per cent of alternative assets including hedge funds, alternative strategy funds, structured products often with features not correlated to traditional assets or markets.
Graham Duce, also co-head of the Credit Suisse multi-manager team, adds, ‘The final 20 per cent of the fund would be set aside to support and invest in shorter-term, less than 12 months, tactical opportunities, which if not available would be retained in cash if necessary.’
