WorldSpreads appoints ex-CMC Markets trio
WorldSpreads is expanding its team with several key appointments, all of which previously held senior roles at rival firm CMC Markets.
Roger Hynes has been appointed the CEO of WorldSpreads Limited, the Group's UK FSA regulated business. Hynes will also be appointed an Executive Director of WorldSpreads Group plc and WorldSpreads Limited once regulatory approval has been granted.
Previously an executive director of CMC Markets plc, he is keen to expand the WorldSpreads brand within the spreadbetting and Contracts for Difference (CFD) market.
He said, ‘I am looking forward to bringing my 12 years experience of the CFD and Spread Betting market to WorldSpreads and ensuring the Group becomes a major player not just in the UK, but on a global basis.’
WorldSpreads also announced the appointment to its UK FSA regulated business of Geoff Langham as chief operations officer and Dominic Bacon as general counsel and group head of compliance.
Both Langham and Bacon previously held similar senior positions at CMC Markets and will also be appointed to the Board of WorldSpreads Limited once regulatory approval has been granted.
Commenting on the new appointments, Conor Foley, Group CEO, said, ‘These are exciting times for WorldSpreads as we seek to build on our recent strong growth in our UK and international markets. I am sure that the new executive team will, with our existing innovative and entrepreneurial approach, drive our market share to a level where we will be challenging the more traditional CFD and Spread Bet providers.’
