Spread-betting and CFD specialist CMC Markets today launched its iPhone trading application.

The spreadbetting application allows investors to access live prices and to trade on the move in a variety of instruments including equities, indices, currencies and commodities.

Peter Cruddas, executive chairman of CMC Markets said while the group is not the first company to launch an iPhone application, it is among the most sophisticated in the market.

He explained, ‘I believe ours has the highest level of functionality and usability of all the spread betting apps available. Unlike other firms, we haven’t just retuned our existing platform and website and put in an application.

‘We’ve taken a different approach. We’ve built it from the ground up as a fully functional trading platform designed specifically for the iPhone.’

In addition, the new tool will give investors interactive, multi-touch chart navigation, watch lists that can be customised and advanced orders including transactional based-stop losses.

Fact sheets on each instrument provide investors with streaming news, trading information such as market opening hours, margin rates and spreads as well as insights on how market forces may influence the price of that instrument.
