Devon & Cornwall Police have arrested six people in relation to ongoing investigations into the collapse of Crown Currency Exchange and Crown Holdings.

Three men - one of whom has previously been arrested in connection with the investigation - and three women were arrested at addresses in Cornwall and Hertfordshire.

The South-West police force have also linked the collapse of cash-for-gold company called Mayfair & Grant to the investigation.
 
Detective Inspector Paul Bean, head of the economic crime unit at Devon & Cornwall Police, said, 'This is a lengthy and complicated investigation in which there are many lines of enquiry to pursue.

'It is anticipated that there are over 8,000 victims of crime in relation to the collapse of these companies. Police are liaising with the administrators for Crown Currency and liquidators for Mayfair & Grant.'

The Detective Inspector said anybody who believed they had been a victim in the criminal investigation to register with administrators

He added, 'MCR are responsible for the administration of Crown Currency Exchange and Crown Holdings, and the liquidation of Mayfair & Grant.

'Officers from the enquiry team will make contact with all registered victims and creditors via e-mail.

'All registered losers will be contacted in due course by the investigation team, given the volume this may take some time, but should be within the next three weeks.'
