Market update (AM): Resolution sole riser in morning trading

There was only one riser in what was a poor start to trading for the FTSE 100, as the blue chip index dropped more than 100 points (at 1009).
Life insurance consolidator Resolution (RSL.L) was the only riser, with share price increasing slightly by 0.4 per cent to 272.7p.
At the other end of the scale, the biggest faller was miner Xstrata (XTA.L), which dropped 4.5 per cent to 1,033p.
It was joined at the bottom by bank Barclays (BARC.L), which shed 4.3 per cent from its share price, down to 166.45p.
Luxury goods company Burberry (BRBY.L) dropped 4.2 per cent to 1,291p, copper miner Kazakhmys (KAZ.L) fell 4 per cent to 1,002p, and temporary power provider Aggreko (AGK.L) saw its share price decrease by 3.8 per cent to 1,815p.
