'After closing at 5,129.92 on Friday, the FTSE 100 opended the morning up at 5,228.99 following gains in other global markets markets yesterday.

'Banking stocks helped to lift the index and customers opted to take advantage of the gains, making Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group and RBS their top three sells and accounting  for over half (56 per cent) of the top ten sells for the morning.'
