Lloyds Banking Group (LLOY.L) has announced 300 jobs will be cut as part of its ongoing restructuring programme.

The roles will be sourced from its retail, wholesale, wealth & international and group operations divisions.

It has also announced the closure of its Bridgend call centre in 2012, with staff set to be offered jobs at its Cardiff, Swansea and Newport sites.

Call centre staff will be offered support to help settle into new offices, according to the part-nationalised bank

All affected staff had been informed and the bank had worked with recognised unions prior to the announcements.

It reiterated its policy of using natural turnover to redeploy staff and would use compulsory redundancies as a 'last resort'.
