Oil & gas services company Petrofac (PFC.L) has been awarded two North Sea contracts by GDF Suez E&P UK, worth £30 milllion over three years.

The contract win by its offshore engineering & operations business also has an additional two year option, and were awarded following a tender process.

The company will provide operations, maintenance, engineering and general support services to GDF Suez E&P UK, and will create an estimated 100 new jobs in the North Sea over the next five years.

Bill Dunnett, managing director of offshore engineering & operations business at Petrofac, said, 'We will be working closely with GDF Suez E&P UK to deliver these projects, helping build GDF Suez E&P UK's presence in the UKCS [UK continental shelf] and cementing a relationship for the long-term.'

Jean-Claude Perdigues, managing director at GDF Suez E&P UK, added, 'These two new contracts represent a significant milestone for GDF Suez E&P UK and will help the company to conduct its North Sea operations safely, efficiently and cost effectively.

'I look forward to a long and productive relationship with Petrofac as we work together to generate production and employment in the UKCS.'
